DutiesServes as the Teller in a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) location.
The primary purpose of this position is to control and account for all funds received and deposited daily as part of the commissary store operation.
Position responsibilities include:
Counts change fund, sets up cash drawers, and verifies the accuracy of each drawer.
Turns on the master cash control processor and sets up the office terminal(s) for the day's business.
Issues change to cashiers.
Operates cash register, as needed.
Periodically checks cash register drawers to prevent extensive fund accumulation.
Bags and seals cash and checks, makes up change list for secure pick up and deposit.
Verifies cashier records against total of change funds and sales records.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
