About the Position:
This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25.This position is located at the USA Intelligence & Security Command, 500th Military Intelligence Brigade, Office of the S6, Schofiled Barracks, Hawaii.

This is a Career Program Position (CP) 34.
Must obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance based on SSBI and SCI. Drug Test is required. PCS costs are NOT authorized. TDY will be required 25% or less of the time.
Develop, implement and maintain automation system configuration and application software programs for both network-related and stand-alone personal computer (PC) systems in support of intelligence and administrative missions. Perform a wide range of technical Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) functions, to include installation of terminals, printers, transceivers, cabling, networking software and E-mail. Create and maintain operating systems documentation, to include: backup procedures, technical specifications, system log-in scripts, anti-virus protection procedures, maintenance procedures, and system-level programming guides. Serve as Information Assurance Officer responsible for Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET), Nonsecure Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET) and Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS) networks. Identify and resolve virus and other system intrusions. Analyze specifications, develops detailed logic, codes, tests and debugs programs. Implement changes to developed software, operating system software, language translators, compliers, and software. Maintain standard systems documentation, such as maintenance manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), manual and programming guides and related technical references. Manage the organizational Information Center/Help Desk. Coordinate the Work Order process to support all customer support issues. Provide timely assistance for hardware and software, deficiencies, questions and problems.

Experience required:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Demonstrated experience managing Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) support functions, software programs, and Information Assurance processes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GG/GS-12.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:

All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearancebased on an SBBI with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
