Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element):
Ability to lead or supervise a(n) MAINTENANCE MECHANIC LEADER (MVO). Maintaining a variety of commercial target training devices such as very high frequency transmitters and receivers, remote cameras, target interface unit, battery and solar charging systems, public address sound equipment, intercom equipment, and other related electronic equipment of similar complexity; performing scheduled maintenance inspections and necessary repairs, improvements and modifications to range electronic targets and equipment; utilizing jigs and fixtures to clamp, assemble and setup parts to be welded; stirring and applying various premixed coating materials according to specific instructions; and/or operating motor vehicles and heavy engineering equipment such as crawler and wheel type equipment with bull. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. The employee is regularly required to lift and carry target mechanisms weighing up to 95 pounds. The work also requires frequent bending, stooping, and working in cramped or awkward positions. Working Conditions:
Work is performed in and out of doors in all types of weather conditions. There is frequent requirements for standing on concrete floors and working on remote ranges and rough terrain. There is frequent exposure to the possibility of cuts, abrasions, burns, and electrical shocks. Some work may be around potentially unexploded ordnance.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
