Ability to do the work of an Materials handler (Forklift Operator) without more than normal supervision:
operate a forklift; perform warehouse duties to include receiving, picking, packing, shipping, etc. of inventory; utilize computer programs to record, track and monitor goods; conduct inventory to verify goods on hand and report discrepancies. Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal SupervisionAbility to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc.Dexterity and SafetyKnowledge of MaterialsTechnical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean, and in order) PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Employee stands, stoops, bends, and works in tiring and uncomfortable positions on hard surfaces. May be required to work at a rapid pace for prolonged periods. Frequently lifts and carries material that weighs up to 70 pounds, and at time, may handle material weighing over 70 pounds. Receives assistance in lifting heavy or difficult items. Moderate physical effort is expended in operating forklifts and pallet jacks. WORKING CONDITIONS:
Employee works in all kinds of weather and inside in areas that may be dusty, drafty, and noisy. The employee is exposed to the possibility of bruises, muscle strains, cuts, scrapes or injury from shifting loads, toppling stacks, and falling objects or other material handling equipment. Protective devices such as but not limited to ear plugs, safety glasses, respirators, gloves, hard hat and safety shoes is required. Steel toe shoes, hard hats and safety glasses, are required at all times. Long trousers or coveralls and shirt or tee shirt with sleeves are worn.
